'It's really ironic,' said Bryant Ortiz his friend and CSUN student. 'He was studying criminal justice to and then to die from gang violence.'

After almost two hours, Associated Students held their last meeting during which they gave out a total of $8,950 to clubs, organizations and themselves while also passing several resolutions that would go into the next semester.

During Associated Student's special meeting, fraternity Phi Delta Theta was given $1,000 for their 'Miss CSUN' beauty pageant that seeks to raise awareness and funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

In an effort to expedite the time it takes for a student to graduate, Associated Students approved a resolution that makes academic advisement mandatory for freshmen and transfer students.

Hours after their home was consumed by flames the Corral family returned to the Oakridge mobile park on Saturday to look at the remains. Kia Calvin Abbasi has come a long way from handing out dollar bills to the homeless at Santa Monica as a kid. He has moved on to volunteer his time at homeless shelters in the greater Los Angeles area, feeding and clothing the less fortunate.

The results are in for the second Associated Students' elections this semester. All of the current senators who took part in the election kept their seats and one write in candidate won the senator position for the college of education.

Students are invited to take to the polls, once again, to vote for the senators that will be representing them for the next year. The special elections will be held today, Nov. 12 and 13 due to the elections being cancelled two weeks ago after it was reported that the electronic system used for the elections was malfunctioning.

While several clubs and organizations received funds from Associated Students their technology support received the most by far for their upgrade.
