Women’s Studies Dept.; past, present, and future

For 27 years the Cal State Northridge Women's Studies Department has been making an impact on the lives of women at CSUN. March was declared Women's History Month by President Ronald Reagan and Congress in 1987, according to the National Women's History Project press release, but CSUN was one step ahead of them.

Women’s basketball extends winning streak to three

Seniors Heather Cushing, Alexis Johnson and Cassandra Markovich went out victorious on Seniors' Night in their last home game as the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team beat the Pacific Tigers, 80-59 Feb. 25 at the Matadome. All seniors were named starters for the game as they combined for 15 points and seven rebounds while junior Jamie McCaa led the way with her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Rain ruins softball’s weekend

Rain officially washed away three out of four games the Cal State Northridge softball team would have played in last weekend's UCSB Commercial Capital Invitational. Rain washed away any chance for the Matadors to come back from their opening game of the tournament.

Daily Sundial Even though the Cal State Northridge women's tennis team beat St. Mary's 6-1 at the Northridge Tennis Complex on Feb. 2, it was not as easy as the final score would indicate. "We wanted to win very badly after losing to Cal Poly the way we did," Victor said.

Tennis loses first match of the season

Daily Sundial The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season to the Cal Poly Mustangs at the Northridge Tennis Complex, Jan. 27. With the loss, the Matadors evened their record at 1-1. Junior Sonya Kumar gave the Matadors a chance to pull out the victory with her come from behind singles win.
