Students shouldn’t fear reprisal for opinions

Students come to colleges such as CSUN to learn facts and gain new skills and experiences. However, I have noticed that many times students are forced to be told the opinions of their given teacher even if they do not agree or are not interested. Many times, this results in students either staying quiet, speaking to only be quickly silenced, or trying to argue their point while being harassed and risking their grade being effected.

Homecoming meaningful for students in Greek system

Homecoming week began April 23 and the events kicked off with free T-shirts and food just outside of the Jerome Richfield building. Giveaways followed a dance showcase on Tuesday, a day fair on Wednesday, a movie and free food by the dorm apartments on Thursday, and a red rally at a CSUN baseball game on Friday.

CSUN students win at regional competition

The Civil Engineering Department at CSUN took first place overall out of 18 schools that competed for the prestigious steel bridge category at the Pacific Southwest Regional Conference. The PSWRC features universities that participate and compete in various events, including the steel bridge, concrete canoe, seismic structure, impromptu design and surveying.

First year for Baha’i faith club sees increase in student members

The Baha'i faith is a fast-growing independent world religion that even has its own club here on campus. Ali Riazati, the president of the club said, "the Baha'i religion is working toward the creation of an ever-advancing, sustainable world civilization.
