Esha Momeni, the 28-year-old grad student that was arrested last month in Iran, has been released by the Iranian government after 25 days in jail. Momeni was released from Evin prison at 5 p.m. in Tehran after the deed of her parents' home was taken as bail, according to Change for Equality.

Israel's 60th anniversary of independence was celebrated yesterday by Jewish students with Israel Fest 2008. The event, held in front of Bayramian Hall, featured free food and henna tattoos, along with information booths from non-profit, activist and on-campus organizations.

Arrest made in UPA thefts, burglaries

An arrest has been made for the thefts that occurred at the on-campus housing last month. Kenneth Ray James Jr., 22, was arrested in suspicion of 10 thefts and burglaries at the University Park Apartments, said CSUN Detective Mark Benavidez. James was arrested after authorities were investigating a theft reported from another burglary, said Christina Villalobos, special assistant to the chief of police.
