The search for Renee Fox, 25, a Simi Valley women missing for more than two months, is over. The body of the young mother who hoped to come to CSUN this fall was found under a bush in the desert near Independence, 200 miles from her home, on Aug. 10. Inyo County Coroner Leon Brune used dental records to identify the body, which had been exposed to the harsh desert summer.

The door to Phyllis Gilson's office is always open. If someone has a question, even if it's not about her department, Gilson will do whatever it takes to find the answer, or at least point out the best direction. "I deal with a lot of walk in students, answer a lot of phone calls, resolve any problems that come up," Gilson said.

After nearly a year and a half, contract negotiations between the California Faculty Association and the California State University are at a standstill. The bargaining teams met in San Francisco on July 24, and began a five-day bargaining marathon that ended abruptly when the CSU representatives walked out.
