Professor Maryellen Clemons of the theatre department died Feb. 7 due to lung cancer that spread to her pancreas, said Bill Taylor, theatre manager. Clemons' career as a musical theatre professor, director, choreographer and department acting chair spanned 30 years.

Alyssa Lofgren's column touched on how one religious organization routinely ruins a family's ability to effectively grieve for the death of a loved one, if that loved one practiced a sexual preference not of the church's choosing.? It is amazing how in the name of God, so many destructive things are done to individuals, and families at the most devastating times in their lives.

This letter is in response to the article, "Iraq War Veteran opposes Army recruitment of Latinos," the subject of military recruitment and the presence of ROTC on high school or college campuses as discussed in the article. A lot of accusations get thrown around throughout the article, mainly by Professor Rosa Furumoto and Camilo Mejia with a few additions from others, that the Armed Forces deceives in a malicious fashion when recruiting students.

Thank you for the well written reminder to people about the risks and challenges motorcycle riders face. Clearly you have done some research and shared some good numbers that should put the matter into a perspective anyone should understand. While I sincerely appreciate that you have made the effort to bring the matter to the average driver, it is unfortunate that there are not enough messages like this to promote awareness.

I am not a journalist. I am not a sociologist. I still haven't even been accepted into the CTVA major yet! However, I am a very disgruntled Irish-Italian kid from South Philly, and I have something to say. Throughout the course of my longest day of the week here at CSUN, I usually just sit around and people watch.
