Hi my name is Agusto C. Sandino, I'm a community college student who was thinking of transfering to CSUN next spring.?However, my plans have changed because of A.S.'s decision not to support SB1. Undocumented students would benefit from the bill's passage.

The following are pieces written by people who attended the Associated Students meeting in which A.S. voted on a resolution supporting SB1, also known as the Dream Act. The bill suggests undocumented students should be able to apply for certain financial aid.

Stop being useless, fad-following, oblivious, unthinking, materialistic morons who contribute nothing to the betterment of society! I must point out a mistake in the Oct. 8 opinion piece about Britney Spears. It's not a factual error mind you. It's a simple mistake of expectation.

Dear Editor, I'm concerned with where all of mine and my fellow classmates tuition money is going. We know our teacher's and professors aren't getting it, no new parking structures are being constructed, and for the people that live in housing the tram works sporadically, and I can't even get into the core classes for my major (communications).

The following are excerpts from letters the Sundial received. Each letter below concerns the same topic, and excerpts are published instead of the full letters so information doesn't overlap. Each letter concerns modern slavery. Most readers will probably just skim through this article because they feel issues concerning Britney Spears and the custody of her kids are more important.

In response to William Kammer's article, "Leave O.J. out of the news." I am often amused when I read letters that indicate an individual is tired of O.J. Simpson. ?While I too would rather put O.J.'s saga and many trials and tribulations on the back burner of life, it isn't going to happen because he sells papers and books.

To the Sundial Staff, As the newspaper at a university of more than 30,000 students, I thought it pertinent to write you regarding an issue that is growing in intensity everyday: modern slavery. At first glance, readers might think this has little importance or is of that sort of global importance that Americans conveniently detach themselves from.

Swerve into a new festival

A new wave of festival is on the rise, one that features live music, art work, interactive activities and film. This year, Fuel TV kicked off it's first annual Swerve Festival celebrating West Coast creative culture and its community-inspired art, film, music and action sports.

I do not understand how Mr. Reed can go on record and say that "we" should compare apples to apples. What is he talking about? It is bad enough that students can hardly afford to go to a CSU, but we can't even get the classes we need because there are not enough classes available since we can't pay more professors.

Dear editor, I am writing in regard to the article titled "Center pushes for national 'no junk mail' registry" found in the Sept. 5 issue of the Sundial. I found this article to be informative as well as appropriate for a community such as ours, with the massive amounts of advertising and useless jabber hurled at us in so many different ways.

An Open Letter to fellow TAs, GAs, and ISAs

For many of us, it's the same old story with Cal State Northridge: no health benefits and no fee waiver, even though our UAW contract states that we're entitled to them. The university apparently doesn't respect us and doesn't fear us. Yet, we provide a service to the university that's essential for its functioning.

Dear Editor, In my opinion, Lauren Robeson, the former editor in chief, isn't fully aware of what's being alluded to in the letter to the editor on the 18th. We're currently engaged in two combat operations: Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
