I am responding to the article "Global warming a threat to the world." It just simply seems that no one is giving terrorism or even the threat of Putin resurrecting Russia back to its Soviet self is not a major concern. But to suggest global warming is a greater threat than this? Now I care about the environment as much as the next person does, but I think the global warming movement seems to be a global alarmist movement.

Dear Editor, In Wayne Cohen's letter of last Monday he stated, "To offer a differing view of the Armenian Genocide is a pretty certain way to invite intense hostility." Duh! To offer a differing view about the Holocaust will buy you the same response, as it should! Don't be fooled into thinking there aren't also crackpots who deny the Holocaust.

Former Cal State Northridge President James Cleary died on April 28. During his 23 years at CSUN, Cleary was instrumental in the university's transformation into the diverse community it is today. Harry Hellenbrand, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of CSUN extended the invitation "Let's talk" in his letter posted in the Daily Sundial on Monday. I have to respond to the question in his letter, "Some in the audience responded very crudely.

PASADENA: A RICH ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY

defaultuser April 30, 2007
Nestled in the San Gabriel Valley lies Pasadena. Home to the Rose Bowl and the annual Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena exudes history. If you are not from the San Gabriel Valley, you may not be familiar with it, but Pasadena historic sites are reason enough to make the venture down.

Dear Editor, To offer a differing view of the Armenian Genocide is a pretty certain way to invite intense hostility, indeed professor Stanford Shaw of UCLA had his house firebombed for doing so. Several professors have been forced out of their jobs. Worst of all was that in 1993 the greatest historian of the Middle East, Bernard Lewis, was accused of a hate crime against Armenians and brought before a French Court for questioning the use of the word "genocide" for those terrible events during World War I.

Rock conspiracy uncovered by fans

defaultuser April 24, 2007
Nine Inch Nails has produced a conspiracy frenzy of cryptic messages, from restrooms in Europe to NIN tour T-shirts. It's all a part of a very clever marketing scheme to promote their latest album, Year Zero. The conspiratorial spiral begun on April 19 with the release of their latest album.

Last Monday, 33 lives were siphoned off the face of the Earth, including the troubled shooter who apparently took his own life after unloading on 32 other people on the campus of Virginia Tech University. Sitting in a rather quaint office in downtown Los Angeles, I felt shocked and paralyzed for most of that day, my mind racing from asking why this happened, why I care, and what I would've done if I was one of those students who saw a man spraying gunfire from two pistols.

I would like to reply to the article "Imus firing for corporations, not in public interest". Now while I have never seen the man's show, I am quite outraged by the sort of reaction Imus gets and people who say much worse things do not get though I agree it was wrong for Imus to target the Rutgers team in that manner and glad he apologized for it.

The following is a response to a letter to the editor from Paul Russell Laverack, a screenwriting graduate student, on April 12. It addressed an internal Sundial matter that had already been addressed and discussed between the Daily Sundial, CSUN's CTVA department and the Cinematheque.

Title IX: Caused more damage than good

defaultuser April 18, 2007
I'm pretty sure Title IX was created to appease feminists such as myself. Created in 1972, the federal act implemented a three-pronged system to enforce equality in athletics at universities throughout the United States that recieve federal government funds.
