Facing a team like the 27th-ranked Maryland Terrapins on its home field, a place where they had gone 59-2-3, can be a very tough task. However, the CSUN men's soccer team was hardly intimidated by its trip to College Park on Sunday afternoon, and came away with a 1-1 tie.

Teams that have faced the CSUN women's volleyball team this year are quickly finding out one thing - getting the ball to the Matadors' side of the court can be pretty tough. The Matadors posted 23.5 blocks and 43 blocks assists against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos at the Matadome Saturday night, as the Matadors defeated the Gauchos in a thrilling five-game match.

Matadors can’t contain Mustangs

The CSUN women's volleyball team certainly showed it was capable of hanging with the 24th-ranked Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Mustangs. However, in the end, the Mustangs proved to be on a higher level, as Cal Poly bounced back from a game-one defeat to win the next three games and with it, the match at the Matadome Friday night.

Matadors suffer first conference loss

After three matches, the CSUN men's soccer team finally ended a match without a tie on Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, it ended Wednesday's match against the UC Davis Aggies with the one thing it could ill-afford at this time - a loss. The Matadors suffered their first Big West Conference loss, falling to UC Davis 3-1 at Aggie Field.

Matadors come back from 2-game deficit to beat Davis, can’t repeat it against Pacific

The CSUN women's volleyball team spent its weekend in Northern California attempting to rally from 2-0 deficits. The Matadors were successful in their first attempt against UC Davis on Friday night and came close to repeating that feat against University of the Pacific the following night, though they still fell in four games.

Playing its most emotional game to date, the CSUN men's soccer team gave everything it had to give on Saturday afternoon. Just a couple of days after attending the funeral services of teammate Jay Singh, who passed away suddenly last Sunday night, the Matadors played the UC Riverside Highlanders to a scoreless tie.

The CSUN men's soccer is mourning the loss of Jay Singh, who unexpectedly passed away at his home in San Bruno on Sunday night. "The world lost a really good soul on Sunday night," head coach Terry Davila said. Singh was a junior who was redshirting this season after transferring from nearby Loyola Marymount University.

CSUN fit to be tied

Once again, the CSUN men's soccer team was fit to be tied on the road. Facing a UC Irvine squad that was ranked 25th in the nation, but was reeling from a 4-0 road loss to the 12th-ranked UC Santa Barbara Gauchos last Wednesday, CSUN fell behind early at Anteater Stadium on Saturday night, but came back to equalize in the second half.

CSUN ties Titans in Big West opener

There was good news and bad news for the CSUN Matador men's soccer team in its Big West Conference opener Wednesday night. The good news: It broke its streak of going scoreless in the first half with a goal only two minutes into the game. The bad news: It allowed the host Cal State Fullerton Titans to equalize midway through the first half and it stayed that way the rest of the game, with CSUN having to settle for the 1-1 draw at Titan Stadium.

Matadors sweep Riverside for first Big West win at home

The CSUN women's volleyball team had just 24 hours to bounce back from a four game defeat against UC Irvine. It turns out that 24 hours was all the time it needed. The Matadors were dominant in the first two games of their Big West Conference match against UC Riverside, then survived a hard-fought game three to complete a three-game sweep of the Highlanders at the Matadome Saturday night.

Matadors upset No. 10 UCLA 3-0

It was 10 huge minutes for the CSUN men's soccer team. In those 10 minutes in the second half, the Matadors erased a winless streak against local rival 10th-ranked UCLA and built some momentum heading into Big West Conference play with a 3-0 victory, their first victory in 14 tries against the Bruins.
