Ivan Yeo September 26, 2007
The CSUN women's volleyball team had a tale of two games in its trip up the Central Coast this past weekend. The Matadors opened up Big West Conference play with a bang on Friday night, upsetting the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in five games at the Thunderdome, but their trip to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo the next day was a far different story, as the Mustangs swept the Matadors out of Mott Gymnasium.

The CSUN men's soccer team did something few have been able to do for a long time - win in Las Vegas. Perhaps one thing better than picking up your first win of the season is doing it against an undefeated opponent. That's what the CSUN women's soccer team did Friday afternoon, as sophomore forward Adrienne Dickerson's goal in the 68th minute broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Matadors to victory over the Baylor Bears at Matador Soccer Field.

D?j? vu for women’s volleyball as Matadors win first, then lose two

Ivan Yeo September 12, 2007
The CSUN women's volleyball team had a weekend in Sacramento that pretty much resembled its opening weekend in Seattle, winning the first match of a pre-conference tournament only to drop its remaining two matches. The Matadors staged a two-game comeback to defeat Manhattan in its first game of the Sacramento State Volleyball Invitational on Friday, but things unraveled from that point on, as it lost its final two matches, the first to Oregon State on Saturday morning and the second to the host Hornets later that night.

Road remains rough for CSUN against ranked foes

The CSUN women's volleyball team certainly showed it was capable of playing to the level of the USC Trojans, who came into Thursday's match at the Galen Center as the fourth-ranked team in the nation. However, the Trojans seemed to have a little something extra in the tank, as USC overcame slow starts in all three games to sweep the Matadors in straight sets by scores of 30-18, 20-22 and 31-29 in CSUN's opening game of the USC Classic Tournament.

CSUN split both matches, but then stalled in its tournament finale against the host Huskies, who swept the Matadors convincingly.

Team hopes to return to NCAA Tournament

After a solid, yet disappointing 2006 campaign, the CSUN men's soccer team looks ahead to what it hopes will be a bounce-back 2007 season. Coming off a 2005 season that saw the Matadors win their second Big West Conference Title and advance to the sweet 16 of the NCAA College Cup Tournament, the Matadors entered last season with high expectations.

2007 Preview: Matadors Face Another Tough Schedule

Ivan Yeo August 22, 2007
Following a bounce-back season in 2006, the CSUN Matador women's volleyball team enters the 2007 season hoping its continued development results in a trip back to the postseason. After a dismal 2005 season that saw CSUN fall to the 20-loss plateau for the first time in a decade, a Matador team that consisted mostly of freshmen that year looked to yield better results the following year, and did just that, going from 4-23 in 2005 to 16-12 the following year, including a 7-7 mark in conference play, which tied with UC Irvine for fifth in the Big West.

A game to remember

Originally Published February 27, 2007 Four years, nine games and plenty of anguish at the hands of the Pacific Tigers was more than enough for the CSUN Matador men's basketball team. The Matadors started their final push for a top four seeding in the upcoming Big West Tournament by grinding out a 76-73 win over Pacific at the Matadome Saturday afternoon.
