Rachel Acosta is a junior piano performance major at CSUN. Three times a week, Acosta wakes at 5 a.m. and makes the long trek from Long Beach to Northridge to practice and attend classes and the other two days. Acosta stays at her parents' home in Northridge.

The LA County Fair ran September 7 through September 30 at the Fairplex in Pomona. Fairgoers enjoyed a wide array of exhibits, rides, attractions and food. Attendees could get a glimpse of life on the farm at the Fairview Farms exhibit. They could learn to milk a goat, shear a sheep or pet barnyard animals.
