When Gov. Linda Lingle, R-Hawaii, graduated from CSUN in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in journalism, she had not imagined that she would go on to become the first female governor of the state of Hawaii.

I have been a student at CSUN for four years and some of the things I would like to change start with building school spirit and pride that will be a foundation to making the school better.

One of my main goals is to see an increase in voter turnout for the school elections. Our goal is 3,500 students and I think that we can definitely meet it.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation AB 97 on July 25 banning the use of trans fats in restaurants, making California the first state to adopt the guideline. Effective Jan. 1, 2010 the ban will prevent the use of oils, margarines and shortenings that contain trans fats in restaurants and bakeries.
