Increase in youths drinking coffee

The popularity of coffee has grown among college students and is still multiplying. The National Coffee Association reported in their 2006 survey that 70 percent of 18-to-24-year-olds consume coffee in the morning. College students continue to drink more and more coffee every year.

In Sierra Hall on a Tuesday evening, more than 100 people, including students, faculty and members of the community, filled the room. The balcony doors were opened to accommodate more people. The diverse audience sat on benches, chairs and even stood to have the opportunity to listen to Kenneth Morgan.

Labels don’t make personality, people do

In my high school, students were more concerned with clothes and how they looked to define themselves or at least to help create an image. They never really bothered with labels to make a personal connection with one's personality as a means to define who they were.

The subjects of biology and DNA are complicated. They are so complicated, in fact, merely mentioning the word "mitochondria" can send many CSUN students running. Nevertheless, DNA is a very useful tool in researching biological subjects, but it can be very time consuming to do an analysis and sequence the DNA for research projects.

FREE! That word is magic to people's ears and they are immediately drawn in, no matter what it is. Money doesn't just fall out the sky and into your wallets, so when you hear the word free, it's nice for a change. The only thing is, most people don't stop and think of the reasoning behind that word.

Northridge mall hosts emergency preparedness fair

The automatic doors opened as local residents stepped into the Northridge Fashion Center at 9:30 a.m. The majority of shops and food venues weren't open as people trickled into the lower level of the mall. A small line had formed of people waiting to be allowed into the Center Court of the Northridge Fashion Center, and it steadily grew.

As people become more sexually active, the risk of acquiring a sexually transmitted disease continues to rise. For women, viruses that affect the genital area have been linked to cervical cancer. Just the word cancer usually causes fear, but there are some new developments in the fight against cervical cancer and human papillomavirus.

USU grand opening draws students, staff

In 100-degree weather, students gathered in front of the Sol Center in the Plaza del Sol to see what the noise was all about. Students, faculty and staff members wore black shirts with the word MORE in white letters stamped across the front. Booths which consisted of canopied tables were dispersed throughout the University Student Union advertising upcoming campus events, promoting facilities and services that are on campus, and selling a variety of things, including posters, handmade jewelry and performance gear.
