Questions raised as RHA elections close early

CSUN administration closes Infant Lab school

The CSUN infant lab school is permanently closing May 26, according to Jerry Harrel-Smith, program director. The infant toddler program at the Child and Family Studies Center will be permanently closed due to the center being understaffed for the services it provides.

A former CSUN fraternity on the verge of dying out is starting to find its way back up again. Last July, Delta Lambda Phi had only two active members working in the fraternity. "It's hard to believe that only two of us were active," said Mike Luna, CSUN alumnus and president of the DLP.

University Student Union creates new noise restrictions

Don't be surprised if things are a little bit quieter on campus soon. Revisions made to the Amplified Sound Policy and Procedure will be enforced in future contracts made with the University Student Union. The USU Board of Directors approved the new policy at its March 27 meeting.

USU board chair resigns from post

The chair of the University Student Union Board of Directors, Bobby Rodgers, resigned from his position March 27 due to personal reasons, he said. "Over the years, I've made a lot of sacrifices, including personal and economical," Rodgers said, who has been at CSUN for nine years as an undergraduate and graduate student with a degree in educational leadership and policy studies.

Learning center budget stretched by YRO schedule

In the absence of additional funding, the Learning Resource Center will have to spread its budget money allocated for two semesters into three when CSUN begins its tri-semester system this summer. The shift means the LRC will have to spend its money wisely, said Sheryl Thompson, director of LRC.

Phone system down for a day at CSUN

CSUN campus telephones were not working most of Wednesday morning, and service was working intermittently by 5 p.m, according to the CSUN website. Being able to connect to a campus phone line was sporadic throughout March 15. "It hasn't really been a big problem," said Joseph Dabbour, head of circulation services at the Oviatt Library.

"We have been working closely with the United States more than you think on several issues," Robert Pierce, the General Consul, said to the audience of students, faculty and community members at the event which took place in the Whitsett Room atop Sierra Hall.
