To the world, Harry Houdini was the greatest magic man that ever lived. He escaped water torture cells and straightjackets in locked metal handcuffs and shackles. But, to his wife Wilhelmina Beatrice "Bess" Rahner Houdini, he was the love of her life. In the CSUN production "Houdini's Box," Bess Houdini (Lauren Dacey) along with a spirit medium (Lindsay Sacks) successfully communicate with the deceased illusionist as the two flashback into past events that happened throughout his mysterious life including his career.

Covered in body piercings, colorful tattoos, bleached hair, and Mohawks, the boys of the pop-punk band Sugarcult, and special guest Hanging on Halos rocked out in front of Plaza Del Sol at CSUN for a free concert on Nov. 21. The Santa Barbara based band Sugarcult, which formed in 1998, consists of vocalist and guitarist Tim Pagnotta, guitarist Marko DeSantis, bassist Arin Older and drummer Kenny Livingston.

The band, which consists of vocalist Jim Adkins, guitarist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind, rocked out in a house filled with alcohol and half naked guys and girls in their underwear.

It is October 1939 and Nick's Pacific Street Saloon, Restaurant and Entertainment Palace in San Francisco is a safe haven from the cold streets outside. The CSUN production, "The Time of Your Life," successfully creates a dim-lit saloon where an array of characters find solace in an era that is plagued by financial depression and talks of another world war.

Time limits on marriage only create problems

In Las Vegas, a bride and groom have the option of being legally married in a themed wedding. Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, King Tutankhamen and Merlin the Magician are among a few characters that couples can add to their guest lists. There's no doubt that Las Vegas is known for its unique marriage laws, but German politician Gabriele Pauli's proposal might make Germany's marriage laws just as off the wall as Sin City's.
