Keep an eye out for CSUN’s secluded hideaway spots

Samuel Richard January 30, 2006
If or when your semester gets too hectic and you need to take a break, there are some cool spots on campus that you can escape to. I only realized this recently: On Sierra Walk, on the side of Live Oak Hall (formerly Science Building 1), there are a group of tall, thick trees.

You have opinions on thngs. ?As a human being you are wired not only to observe people, events, and circumstances, but also to process and compartmentalize these objects of observation into little "good, bad, ugly, beautiful, funny, irritating, strange, stupid, or logical" boxes in your brain.

The Sundial serves CSUN’s campus community

Samuel Richard January 30, 2006
This month, I met with several people on campus to further know the CSUN community the Daily Sundial will be serving. Talking to these people has been a great learning experience. As much as I have gotten to know CSUN throughout my stay here, meeting numerous individuals on campus, from students to college deans, has caused me to learn more about the concerns and interests of our campus community.

CSU students, staff mad

James Ballard January 30, 2006
I would like to tell you about labor problems and how the faculty members at this university (in conjunction with faculty at all of the CSUs) are working toward a new and hopefully better contract. Why is this important to students? Because if contract talks continue like they have been over the last 10 months, it is possible that this term or in the fall semester you will see some job actions - a fancy term used by unions and management for protests, teach-ins, strikes, and other actions that express the anger, frustration and concern we as faculty feel over our working conditions; the deplorable classroom situations we face together with students, and the lack of respect that is afforded both of our groups when it comes to trying to improve the university.

Daily Sundial Even though it's only the first week of school, some students are already experiencing a laziness and boredom that is usually associated with holidays away from classes. What makes this worse are these dismal facts, spring break is weeks away, and the semester only just started.
