Matadors get tenth win, hang on to beat UC Davis

After losing three of their last four games, the Cal State Northridge men's basketball team beat UC Davis 75-69 for their tenth victory of the season and their second over the Aggies, Feb.14 at the Pavilion in Davis. With the win, the Matadors improved their record to 10-12 overall and stayed 3-7 in conference.

Angel’s name change

Recently the city of Anaheim decided not to appeal a courts decision that allowed the Angels to keep their name. Some of you may be aware that the Angels changed there name last season from the Anaheim Angels to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I know that some of you who did not know this are wondering why a team would change their name to this.

‘Tsotsi’: gangs and humanity in South Africa

The movie "Tsotsi," directed by Gavin Hood and based on the novel by Athol Fugard, is about a criminal's redemption. It is about the transformation in a person and the faith that helped. "Tsotsi" was an effective portrait of the effects of poverty, done so in an elegant visual and respectful story-telling manner.

Matadors come up short against Long Beach

In what was its biggest test of the early season, the Cal State Northridge women's tennis team fell short to the No. 45 Long Beach State 49ers in a 6-1 defeat at the Northridge Tennis Complex Feb. 15. The first point up for grabs was taken by Long Beach, as the 49ers swept the three doubles matches.

Football field converted for track
