20,000 march in Hollywood

Thousands of people gathered March 18 to protest the U.S. occupation in Iraq and demanded the withdrawl of American troops. The march started at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street and ended in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

Women’s center more than a safe haven; a home

As an individual crosses the gate into the CSUN Women's Resource and Research Center, a person probably could not help, but feel safe and at home. "What we have is because someone stood up before us. The Taste of Chaos tour added a dash of metal this year when it began in February. As I Lay Dying, who just concluded their first headlining U.S. tour with Norma Jean, Madball and A Life Once Lost in late 2005, will be performing with the Taste of Chaos tour for the first time in its musical career.

Renovation of student union postponed for third time

CSUN students will have to wait a little longer before they can use the new University Student Union's $15.2 million renovation. The renovated USU, which was scheduled to open March 16, was delayed due to rainfall, delivery delays and a ruptured water main, university officials said.

Learning center budget stretched by YRO schedule

In the absence of additional funding, the Learning Resource Center will have to spread its budget money allocated for two semesters into three when CSUN begins its tri-semester system this summer. The shift means the LRC will have to spend its money wisely, said Sheryl Thompson, director of LRC.

Phone system down for a day at CSUN

CSUN campus telephones were not working most of Wednesday morning, and service was working intermittently by 5 p.m, according to the CSUN website. Being able to connect to a campus phone line was sporadic throughout March 15. "It hasn't really been a big problem," said Joseph Dabbour, head of circulation services at the Oviatt Library.
