Student health center offers morning-after pill

I never thought the day would come when I would praise the work done in the Klotz Student Health Center. All of the center's employees are well-meaning and more kind than some administrators on campus. Yet my interactions with them, from trying to schedule a meningitis vaccination to trying to confirm facts for stories, have made me want to tear my hair out in the past.

Women should take fashion nod from 1940s films

So, here we are, fresh from yet another grotesque binge-fest, er, holiday, and unfortunately for most of us, good ol' summer, replete with its requisite revealing attire and bathing gear, is right around the corner. I am exponentially unfortunate, however, because I, as a graduate student, have my comprehensive exams (read: pass or die) lunging toward me like a cavalry at full gallop.

Taline Helwajian and Joseph Wi April 19, 2006
For many CSUN students, academic advisement has long been a problem. Several students believe they received bad advisement because they were not aware of the opportunities available to them. Advisement has its strengths and weaknesses, said Cynthia Rawitch, associate vice president of Undergraduate Studies.

After one season where he averaged a team-leading 17 points per game, junior Mike Efevberha has decided April 18 to forgo his senior season and declare for the NBA draft. Efevberha said he made the decision three weeks ago. "Me and coach Braz (head coach Bobby Braswell) sat down and had a meeting and discussed my plans for the future, and (I) told him that this is what I was thinking about," Efevberha said.

Two little pink lines, one girl’s painful decision

Her hands were surprisingly steady for the news they held. She wondered how two little pink lines could change so much. She was months away from her high school graduation when she discovered she was pregnant. As she stared at the pregnancy test, she wondered why she wasn't crying.

It’s time for many CSUN students to get an opinion

Editor's Note: The opinions expressed in this editorial do not necessarily reflect the views of the Daily Sundial staff. Here's a tip for all you students. Many of you possess the social skills of a 15-year-old cat that has crawled over into its favorite corner to die a slow and miserable death.

The NFL combine should not be deciding factor

defaultuser April 17, 2006
There is less than a month left until the NFL draft takes place and many players are taking the opportunity to improve on their draft status by holding "pro day" workouts at their college campuses. Coaches, scouts, general managers and other league personnel scrutinize each player by putting them through various tests to determine something that should already be obvious: Can they play football at the next level or not? I enjoy reading how fast a player can run and how high he can jump as much as the next fan, but those facts do not reinforce my opinion as to what I think of the person as a football player.
