Two media vendors provide services, TVs to CSUN

The University Student Union Board of Directors approved a proposal by MTV Networks and The University Network to offer CSUN broadcasting services to various facilities around campus in Fall 2006. MTV Networks is extending its contract with the USU by offering to set up televisions and the necessary equipment to receive the broadcast mtvU at various locations at CSUN, such as the Pub Sports Grill, the Fitness Center, the USU Games room, the Satellite Student Union and Geronimo's.

CSUN's Family Focus Resource and Empowerment Center took suggestions from marketing majors on how to better manage the program May 16. Professor Deborah Cours, marketing professor, assigned her Marketing 640 class, a graduate class on marketing management, the project of coming up with proposals about improvements the center could make.

This is my first semester at CSUN and walking onto the campus for the first time, I realized how diverse this school really was. Walking from class to class I heard a variety of languages and also saw the acceptance of these varieties. I also enjoyed picking up the school paper before my first class of the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I swear, I never thought the time would come, but I am finally graduating from CSUN. Yes, my days as a student have finally come to an end. It seems so strange that I will suddenly no longer have to write papers and do research. Not that I'm complaining. Overall, I am glad that I came here.

CSUN professor brings Katrina dialogue to stage

CSUN students and a faculty member will conduct interviews of victims of natural disasters to present a play about their experiences in Fall 2006. The interviews are part of a grant project on "Natural Disasters" that will be made up of displaced and evacuated Hurricane Katrina, Rita, flooding, mudslide, and earthquake victims.
