‘Clicker’ used in large classes

There is a new method of teaching that will help students overcome shyness and gain more confidence in class. "Clicking" is a way for students to answer questions in class without having to raise their hands in the traditional manner. This new system involves a clicker (which is smaller than a normal-sized remote) to answer questions on a test, or in class and for attendance.

CSUN unable to capitalize on visiting team’s red card

The CSUN men's soccer team lost a physical battle to UC Davis 2-1, despite having a one-man advantage for most of the match Oct. 21 at Aggie Field. Aggie defender Darren Hammond was red-carded and ejected from the game for dangerous play in the 37th minute to give the Matadors the advantage.

Radio program covers new, women-centered ground

Women's Inspiration" is the new radio program at KCSN, during which women and men can learn information about women-related issues. The program airs every Friday from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The hosts, Dr. Erika Yomtobian and Dr. Joan Rosenberg, came up with the idea after their experience as guest hosts of another KCSN radio show.

I am responding to the propagandist article "Chavez clashes with Bush family's ideas of gov't." What this paper in my opinion has come down to is that it sounds to similar to the Pravda during the Soviet Era of Russia (and somewhat of the same today) and to the Cuban counterpart-Prensa Latina, which are both owned by the state.

The law took away rights of Americans, and there was nothing the American people could do about it. Forget that he did it without telling us. Students save on transportation through A.S. Ticket Office

For various reasons, including a lack of personal transportation or a desire to save money on car maintenance and gas, many students use public transportation to get to and from CSUN. For a little over a year, CSUN student Donna, who asked to remain anonymous, has been spending 45 minutes daily on the Commuter Express and the Metro bus to get to CSUN from Westwood because she doesn't have a car.

Updated photo lab nears completion

At the heart of the Art ' Design Center one afternoon, the grounds were filled with students relaxing between classes while Mahshid Ehteshami was busy measuring the dirt-covered walkway in front of the new photography lab. Ehteshami is an architect with Harley Ellis Devereaux, the company that renovated the new photography lab and its two adjoining classrooms and studio space.

Scouting and recruiting for a college soccer team depends on skills, relationships and a little bit of luck, according to Cal State Northridge's men's and women's soccer coaches. Midway through both soccer seasons, the new players from each team have shown promising results, but don't think that the coaches are going to put it on cruise control just yet.

As the sun sets over the San Fernando Valley, food is on everyone's mind. When the smell of food wafts through the door, filling the room, it entices the senses and an informal countdown goes into effect. When the time comes, a group of about 20 thirsty and hungry members of the CSUN Muslim Student Association quickly gather with a characteristic calm around the makeshift food table to break their fast with Italian spaghetti with meatballs in marinara sauce.
