Asbestos removal in buildings should be priority

PAUL CASTILLO February 27, 2007

Beside the annals of august periodicals of The New York Times, The Atlantic and The New Yorker, "Popeye" lay preserved in a glass case, telling its first draft of history. On the second floor west wing of the Oviatt Library, a comic book exhibit composed of works from every genre and decade spanning from early last century to the present are on display until Aug.

Conservative boot aimed at liberal news-comedy misses

Before watching the Fox News Channel's new series, "The Half-Hour News Hour," I wondered if my liberal-leaning mind would actually appreciate the show. I soon learned that party affiliations have little to do with this - if you have good taste and (presumably) intelligence, you probably won't want to waste your time.

Pluto gets bumped off planet line-up

Rafael Gallo February 26, 2007
An international group of astronomers decided to downgrade Pluto's status as a planet to something else at a meeting in Prague last August when a much larger rock was found nearby. The discovery even lead the group to question what exactly constituted a planet.

The Matadors started their final push for a top four seeding in the upcoming Big West Tournament by grinding out a 76-73 win over Pacific at the Matadome Saturday afternoon.

Our capitalist society, for good and bad

PAUL CASTILLO February 26, 2007
Economics is a funny thing. Like other kinds of science, in economics it's easy to go back and look at what has happened and say, "Oh, this must have happened for that reason." The hard part is predicting what will happen next. Unlike other sciences like physics, chemistry or even other social sciences like psychology, getting the same results in similar situations is, in practice, very difficult in economics, especially macroeconomics.

Matadors fall short of upsetting Bruins

Ivan Yeo February 23, 2007
History was unable to repeat itself at Pauley Pavilion Wednesday night, which was bad news for the CSUN Matador men's volleyball team. The Matador's last two matches with the UCLA Bruins at the legendary arena were filled with great memories, as they upset the ever-powerful Bruins in two nail-biting five-game matches.

CSUN gets love

Oscar Areliz February 23, 2007
There is no place like home for the Matadors, as they got another home victory on Wednesday against the UC San Diego Tritons. The Tritons left Norhtridge without winning a single game, as the Matadors won 7-0, dominating the match winning all three doubles matches and six singles.
