In response to "What's an employee worth," originally published April 9. Dear Editor: On April 9, the Daily Sundial published faculty and staff earnings for the fiscal year 2005/06. This data is accurate for the time period reported, but it is important to know what it is that is being reported.

Matadors swept by Waves

Ivan Yeo April 16, 2007
The eighth-ranked CSUN Matador men's volleyball team will have to wait until its regular season finale to clinch a spot in the Mountain-Pacific Sports Federation playoffs. For the second straight match, Northridge saw its playoff chances dashed by another opponent, and it was the top-ranked Pepperdine Waves that delayed the Matadors' postseason aspirations, as the Waves defeated the Matadors in straight sets at Firestone Fieldhouse by scores of 30-25, 30-28 and 30-25.

Those unhappy with A.S. should vote to change it

Katrina Mossberger April 16, 2007
It's Election Day again, at least for Associated Students here at CSUN. Time for the small population of students who actually get around to voting to decide which senators will represent which colleges and which presidential hopeful will win the president's chair.

Voting should be based on issues, not popularity

defaultuser April 16, 2007
I'd like to think that after high school, elections and voting become more than a popularity contest. Yet this is hardly true. Even after we leave CSUN with our degrees, there is the reality of a politically apathetic nation - and one defined by its unrelenting two-party system.

The following column does not signify an endorsement of Dina Cervantes for president. Rather, the Sundial is giving Ms. Cervantes an open forum to discuss the issues her slate is focusing on. Due to an elections scheduling conflict that was out of her control, she was not able to speak out at last night's presidential debate; the following reflects what she would have said if given the chance at the debate.

Lucky Number Seven

Ivan Yeo April 16, 2007
Saturday's match up with the USC Trojans at the Lyon Center carried playoff implications for the CSUN Matador men's volleyball team, though those implications weren't as big as they could've been, much to CSUN's delight. With BYU knocking out Pacific out of the Mountain-Pacific Sports Federation playoff picture with a two game sweep over the weekend, all that was left for the Matadors and Trojans to determine Saturday night was who would host a play-in game between the two teams Wednesday night.

Rafael Cornejo April 12, 2007
Men can help in the fight against violence and sexual assault toward women. This was the message stressed by a Valley Trauma Center prevention educators at a sexual assault workshop on Tuesday at CSUN's Women's Center. "Rape doesn't stop without non-violent men stepping in," said prevention educator Jae Weiss, who was filling in for Peggie Rayna, the project director of Peace Over Violence.

Katie Sheehy April 11, 2007
The A.S. Presidential hopefuls gathered on Tuesday evening to inform and persuade the public that their platforms had the most to offer the student body for the next school year. While many candidates for senator, vice president and president were there to answer questions and give their perspectives, it was also evident that certain candidates were missing.

Radiologist Ray’s serene X-ray room at CSUN

Darya Riyahi April 11, 2007
So why did you become a radiologist, Ray? "Well, my name?," he said, grinning. Raymond Solis, the radiology technologist at the Klotz Student Health Center, known by the staff as Ray, is in a league of his own. So is his X-Ray room. An average radiology lab has bulks of equipment and a bed.
