Health center offering quality eye care for students

The Klotz Student Health Center has teamed up with the one of nation's top schools of optometry, UC Berkeley, to provide students optimum vision care at affordable prices. The University of California, Berkeley/California State University Northridge Optometry Clinic was established as a result of an overwhelming demand for vision care through a survey that the health center distributes yearly.

Matador Motorsports continues their drive to the top

The Student Automotive Engineering team (Formula SAE), also known as Matador Motorsports, has started this year well. The team is inspired and ready to surpass their most recent victory, the high placement of last semester's team, placing seventh out of 80 teams in an open-wheeled formula-style racecar challenge.

The 2008 presidential election promises to be monumental. Both Republicans and Democrats have unusual candidates running in the primaries that will make presidential history, regardless of what party wins. Whether it will be the Democrats' Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, or the Republicans' Mitt Romney or Rudi Giuliani who take the presidency, something new will be brought to the nation that has never been seen before.

Debunking earthquake myths

An earthquake of a 4.6 magnitude rumbled through the San Fernando Valley on August 9, striking at 12:58 a.m. A week later, on Aug. 16, a 3.5 magnitude aftershock hit a few miles above Chatsworth, centered close to the location of the previous week's quake.

Matadors win season opener

The CSUN Matador women's volleyball team opened their season with a busy weekend in Seattle. The Matadors started their 2007 season on Aug. 24 at the Husky Classic at the University of Washington with two five-game matches. CSUN split both matches, but then stalled in its tournament finale against the host Huskies, who swept the Matadors convincingly.
