Both sides of abortion issue should support human health

Whether you are pro-choice or pro-life, I think most people would like to know that women receive the best care and run minimal risks if they do opt for an abortion. The thought of the process itself sounds intimidating to me, but the thought of a woman dying due to this choice, whether by complications or malpractice, makes me cringe.

Matadors sweep two in tourney to end season

The Matadors had their brooms out at the Matadome over the weekend. The CSUN women's volleyball team wrapped up the season by sweeping both of its matches in the Fremont Investment and Loan Invitational. The host Matadors beat the Fairfield Stags 30-28, 30-19, 30-16 on Friday and followed up on Saturday with a win against the Idaho Vandals 30-25, 30-26, 30-19.

A.S. Senate discusses elections appeal, other business items

A ruling on an appeal to again hold elections for an At-Large senatorial seat, a proposed buyout of a sports intramural and other items of business were discussed at the Associate Student Senate meeting on Tuesday. Attorney General Hal Ellison said the judicial court determined Marco Zamora's allegations in regard to the format of the ballots offered at the recent senatorial elections weren't sufficient and that holding another election isn't necessary.

LGBTA examines sex, gender issues

In honor of Transgender Remembrance Day, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Alliance (LGBTA), revealed the issues that LGBT students face during a discussion held Nov. 20, in the University Student Union's Flintridge Room. Transgender Remembrance Day is a day to remember transgender people who've been hurt or killed due to hate crimes and was established about 17 years ago when Gwen Arroyo was murdered in the North Bay because of her refusal to conform to gender rules.

The number three became a significant number for the CSUN men's basketball team in its last game. For the third straight game, the Matadors exceeded 90 points and their high-scoring offense carried them to their first 3-0 start since the 1983-84 season, as CSUN defeated the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners 92-76 at the Matadome Wednesday night.

CSU EU negotiations stall over allocation of .25 percent

Public Safety tests emergency message system

CSUN's Department of Public Safety conducted a test of their mass emergency notification system on Monday, Nov. 19. This test-run of the system, aimed at contacting students through voice, e-mail and text messages, was first conducted with faculty and staff earlier this semester.

Northridge suffers two more losses

The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team remained winless through its first six games with losses on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Following the theme of blowout losses, the Matadors were downed 91-64 by Portland State and 86-65 by Portland, dropping their record to 6-0 on the season.
