Trendy fashion tips for spring

It may be fun to hibernate in chunky sweaters, but the time has come to put them away. With spring right around the corner, it's time to give your wardrobe a fresh new coat of paint with some of the season's latest trends. The fashion trends for this spring include bold colors, shiny metallics, fitted jackets, 1950s inspired swimsuits, platforms, cardigans and dresses.

While you were out: Matadors are first, undefeated in Big West

Once finals' week was done, so were most of the Matadors' rivals. The Northridge men's basketball team went 7-1 over the winter break span, defeating Big West Conference rivals Santa Barbara, Cal Poly, Pacific, UC Davis and Riverside, for a 5-0 start in conference play.

Franklin goes to Galaxy in first round

Sean Franklin, the Matadors' senior defenseman, was selected by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the first round of the Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Friday. As the draft's fourth overall pick, Franklin is the earliest selection ever from CSUN. Head coach Terry Davila said Franklin fits the Galaxy's needs and he could make a contribution to the team next year.

Tresvant’s treys topple UCR Highlanders 66-62

In what players called a "wakeup-call game," the Matadors almost didn't get up in time from a nightmare. Deon Tresvant's three-pointers down the stretch, however, provided the alarm clock. Northridge trailed throughout the game, only to come back -yet again- in the final minutes, to stay perfect in the Big West Conference with a 66-62 win at pesky Riverside on Wednesday night.

Clinton seeks support of students

Presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton stopped by CSUN last Thursday on her way through Southern California, and local politicians from around Los Angeles came to show their support. Roughly 2,000 others also came to show their support for Clinton and hear what she had to say, but due to the overflow they had to watch her on a monitor from the Plaza del Sol.
