Matadors get a win

Matadors survive 49er rally; defeat Long Beach 82-78

Alonso Tacanga February 25, 2008
With three of Northridge's big men out of the contest for good, the Matadors needed someone to step up and stand tall in the game's waning moments. Seldom-used guard Tony Osunsanmi's 6 feet and 4 inches were tall enough. Osunsanmi made the most of his four minutes of playing time following forward Calvin Chitwood's injury and the disqualifications of conference leading-rebounder Tremaine Townsend and 6-foot-8 forward Jayme Miller, grabbing two rebounds - one of them offensive - making three free throws in the game's final minute and helping the Matadors get past pesky Long Beach State 82-78 on Wednesday night at the Walter Pyramid.

Danette Spiers February 22, 2008

Tips for an affordable spring break trip

Eileen Mansoorian February 22, 2008
It has become a rite of passage to party during spring break when you're in college. But since when did going broke for a few days of mayhem become part of the experience?
