Old newspapers and magazines were pulled from a time capsule placed at the campus.

Bio course explores cancer, erases myths

This fall, Biology 285, the "Biology of Cancer" lecture series will be open to both students and the public in an attempt to further cancer prevention within the community and as a means to interest students in the field of cancer research. CSUN Biology Professor, Steven Oppenheimer has taught the curriculum since its initiation in 1977.

Trans fats banned in restaurants, bakeries

Governor Arnold Schwarz- enegger signed legislation AB 97 on July 25 banning the use of trans fats in restaurants, making California the first state to adopt the guideline. Effective Jan. 1, 2010 the ban will prevent the use of oils, margarines and shortenings that contain trans fats in restaurants and bakeries.

In three months we will find out who will be leading our country for the next four years and by the start of the spring semester, the United States will have a new president.

Promoting healthy relations between China and Tibet was the last thing Italian inspired fashion company, United Colors of Benetton's latest ad campaign aimed at achieving Aug. 8. The controversial ad depicts a Tibetan monk and Chinese soldier facing each other praying under the headline "Victims.

Men open season with familiar faces

The men's soccer season is here. The Matadors finished last season with a record of 7-7-6 overall and 3-5-4 in Big West Conference-play. It was good enough for fourth place in their league, but not good enough to satisfy CSUN supporters. Northridge will now strive for a significant improvement from 2007.
