CSUN freshman guard Taelin Webb is leaving the men’s basketball program after one season and is transferring, according to Webb via Twitter.

“Looking at the roster and the point-guard spot, I felt like it’s the right move,” said Webb who is currently undecided on where he will transfer to.

In his only season with the Matadors, Webb averaged 2.6 points 1.7 assists and one rebound per game in 31 games.

Webb was also integral to the Matadors’ tenuous depth, as he was seventh on the team in minutes played with 15.2 minutes per game.

Though Webb didn’t accumulate eye-popping numbers, he was known for his athleticism and penchant for getting the crowd going with his highlight reel dunks.

Coming out of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in La Mirada, Calif., Webb was considered a three-star prospect by scout.com and a two-star prospect by ESPN.

Although Webb’s departure will be felt, the Matadors still return with six guards, including senior Landon Drew and junior Aaron Parks, both of whom played over 25 minutes per game last season.
