Although we have claimed to dislike chain restaurants, the fact that BCD Tofu House is a franchise with numerous locations throughout southern California and Seattle, WA, does not deter our affection for this traditional Korean eatery.

We are food snobs. There, we’ve said it. We pass harsh judgment on chain restaurants and turn our noses up at fast food, save for a few limited exceptions. There is however, a special place in our hearts for hole-in-the-wall dining.

Now, for some the definition of comfort food falls along the lines of a boiling cup of ramen noodles or the occasional toaster strudel. However, there are alternatives to be found, and not just in Los Angeles. The valley offers several great options for late-night grub.
