The Matadors finally picked up their first home win of the season Friday after defeating third-ranked Long Beach State in an improbable five-set match. Northridge was on a six-match losing streak before facing the 49ers. Cal State Northridge lost both games at the Matadome. The Matadors had a chance to seal a victory against UC Irvine Thursday, but failed to hold onto an 11-point second half lead.
