On April 12, a video surfaced on YouTube of a 6-year-old girl getting a security pat-down by a Transportation Security Administration officer at New Orleans’ Louis Armstrong International Airport. Hundreds of Los Angeles Police Department officers filled the F10 student parking lot on the northeast corner of Lindley Avenue and Lassen Street as a staging area for the March 2 protest against budget cuts and tuition increase. Students competed against each other in the 5th tournament of the USU’s spring 2011 table tennis tournament on Tuesday in the Games Room. Pro-choice supporters gathered Saturday for the Los Angeles Walk for Choice in downtown LA to advocate for women’s reproductive rights responding to the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 3), as well as recent federal funding cuts to Planned Parenthood.
