The CSUN women’s soccer team will face the University of Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine at Matador Soccer Field on Friday at 3 p.m.
The Matadors are coming off a 3-1 loss to UCLA at home last Sunday and have a 1-4-1 record. The Rainbow Wahine are undefeated, with a 5-0-1 record.
CSUN has played Hawai’I six times and leads the series 4-2. The teams last meeting was in 2006 in Hawai’I, where CSUN won the game 2-1.
Freshman forward Salma Tarik leads the Matador offense with two goals and one assist. Kristy Krohn and Adriene Dickerson each have one goal. Tarik also leads the team in shots, with ten. Krohn follows with eight shots for the season.
So far this season, CSUN has been outshot by its opponents 69-49 and outscored 16-4.
In the goal, Kellie Drenner has 16 saves in the five games (360 minutes) she has played and Ivette Esqueda has three saves in three games (200 minutes).
