Flipping good fun at the fair

Laura Kelleher

The LA County Fair ran September 7 through September 30 at the Fairplex in Pomona. Fairgoers enjoyed a wide array of exhibits, rides, attractions and food. Attendees could get a glimpse of life on the farm at the Fairview Farms exhibit. They could learn to milk a goat, shear a sheep or pet barnyard animals. For excitement, the carnival section of the fair offered more than 70 rides and 40 skill games, including classic rides like the Zipper and the Fun House. Visitors could also choose from a plethora of foods and snacks including classics like snow cones, funnel cakes, and corn dogs, or one could expand their palette and their waistline with every kind of fried food imaginable, from Twinkies to Coca-Cola. Other attractions included Eco Now, a planet saving adventure and a winter wonderland. Fairgoers could also shop at the many vendors offering everything from hot-tubs and jet boats to safes or unique jewelry and clothing. The fair offered something for everyone and for any age.
