The CSUN women’s soccer team won 1-0 on Friday against Cal State Fullerton to clinch their position in the Big West Conference Tournament.
After a foul on Fullerton 30 minutes into the game, senior Kourtney Kutscher kicked a 30-foot penalty kick that assisted her sister, sophomore Lindsay Kutscher, for a goal with a flying kick.
CSUF had scoring opportunities on a few corner kicks, but goalkeeper Jovani McCaskill was in front of each one.
Camille Watson and Kutscher both contributed with four shot attempts.
With this win, the Matadors are now in the number two spot in the Big West Conference behind UC Irvine.
They will be playing their next game tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. at home against Hawaii.
