Every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, hundreds of walkers meet up in downtown Los Angeles to take a free 9 hour, 17 mile hike. Everyone is free to join during the hike, aiming to end cliches about walking in L.A.

With the holiday season approaching, the L.A. Zoo is getting in the spirit by decorating a portion of the grounds with strings of lights and animated light characters. Among the festivities are reindeer sighting and a photo opportunity with Santa.
