An arrest has been made for the thefts that occurred at the on-campus housing last month.

Kenneth Ray James Jr., 22, was arrested in suspicion of 10 thefts and burglaries at the University Park Apartments, said CSUN Detective Mark Benavidez.

James was arrested after authorities were investigating a theft reported from another burglary, said Christina Villalobos, special assistant to the chief of police. The suspect was held in jail held in jail until his court date was announced, said Benavidez.

“The judge released him on his own recognizance and he is due back in court,” said Benavidez.

Among the thefts included laptop computers and other electronics, valuing about $15,000 total, said Det. Benavidez.

Detectives are also still investigating the strong-arm robberies of late February, but are unable to comment because the investigation is still underway.
