The CSUN music department is hosting a faculty artist recital featuring professor Diane Ketchie and CSUN alum Alice Huang. The recital will take place on Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Shigemi Matsumoto Recital Hall, formerly known as the Cypress Recital Hall, at 3 p.m.

This is the first event in a series of performances sponsored by the music department at the recital hall. The recital will feature pieces by Richard Strauss, Ned Rorem and Lee Hoiby, as well as musical theater selections. It will be accompanied by three of Ketchie’s operatic students, Agnese Gallenzi, Nicole Estrada and Emesh Wijewardena.

Huang specializes in pop, classical and musical theater genres. They graduated with a master’s degree in music from CSUN and is currently working as a pianist, playing at universities such as USC and UCLA, according to their website.
