Graduate students and faculty from the department of kinesiology performed a dance concert on Nov. 6, entitled “Colaboratoria”.

The performance included various forms of contemporary and hip hop dances. The dances were meant to showcase the collaboration between choreographers and dancers. The dancers also sought to examine the psychological and physiological responses during the dance.

Some dancers wore LifeShirts, which are vests that contain sensors that monitor heart rate, blood pressure and temperature. The data will be collected and analyzed after the performances. The music ranged from songs by Macklemore to classical. Some of the themes explored in the performances included bullying. The next performance for the department of kinesiology will be held on April 29, 2014.
