CSUN senior Brooke Doane is coming off her second career Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday as she registered a perfect 4-0 combined record in singles and double play matches against Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State.
Doane and teammate Jennifer Sher helped claim the first point of the match against the nationally ranked 49ers in their No.1 doubles 8-5 win over Deborah Armstrong and Anais Dallara.
Doane and Sher are now a perfect 6-0 on the season at the No.1 doubles draw and have entered the ITA Rankings as the No. 78 doubles tandem in the nation. Doane boasts a 56-12(.824) career doubles record, which is the best winning percentage and the second-most doubles wins in Northridge history.
Doane has earned All-Big West Singles Team honors in 2009, All-Big West Doubles First Team honors the past two seasons and earned Second Team honors during her freshman campaign. She has achieved all her success in doubles in spite of having a different playing partner in all four of her season with the Matadors.
