Letter to the editor

On Friday, March 31 we celebrated Caesar Chavez by closing the campus. In the last few days, we have also noticed thousands of students walking out of class to protest attempts to “further restrict” illegal immigration into this country (or to use the PC term-undocumented immigration).

With these two events in mind, it might be interesting to note the comments of Caesar Chavez himself. He said America should limit illegal immigration because it adversely effects and eventually lowers the wages of all workers in America including the farm workers.

Business will continue to pay illegal immigrants lower wages because they ARE illegal, and if this continues, there is a greater likelihood that wages will be lowered for ALL wage earners.
