A CSUN police officer was hit by a car Sept. 13 while patrolling the CSUN dorms on a bicycle, police said.
The officer, James Hartmann, was patrolling with his partner around 10 p.m. when a car sideswiped him, police said. The blow knocked Hartmann into his partner, who remained uninjured. The car then drove off, leaving Hartmann on the ground. He and his partner were the only officers assigned to the dorms, according to police.
Hartmann was taken to the Encino-Tarzana Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and then released, police said.
Police said the incident is still under investigation, and have yet to release any information on the car or the driver.
