CSUN PD has issued a campus crime alert reporting five cases of sexual battery that took place Tuesday Aug. 27.
The incidents were reported to campus police between 11:20 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. They occurred east of Reseda Boulevard on Prairie and Vincennes street near CSUN campus.
CSUN PD are looking for a male suspect with a medium build and medium complexion. He is between 5 feet and 5 inches and 5 feet and 8 inches tall and has a mustache. The alleged suspect is between 25 and 30 years old and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, baggy black T-shirt, black pants and carrying a backpack.
According to the crime alert, the suspect approached his victim and engaged them in conversation. In several cases he asked for a hug. The suspect then grabbed his victims’ buttocks and fled.
Similar incidents have also occurred in nearby off-campus locations. Those incidents have been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
CSUN Police Sgt. Frank Gudani said his department cannot release further details about the incidents, such as information regarding the victim’s age and sex or whether they were CSUN students.
