The Matadors (5-12, 0-4 Big West Conference) will look to snap its nine-match losing streak and get back to their winning ways of the beginning of the season tonight. Long Beach State (11-3, 1-1) are well-rested. Their last match came almost two weeks ago when they defeated UC Davis in five sets.
Northridge and the Aggies are the lone two teams that have yet to pick up a win in conference play. The Matadors started off 2008 at 4-1, but have since dropped 11 of 12 games.
CSUN led Riverside 2-0 before dropping three straight sets for its latest loss Saturday.
‘The obvious factor is that we’re dealing with confidence issues. We are a solid volleyball team at times, but we need to be consistent. We play well 50 percent of the time, okay 20 percent of the time, and we’re not playing well 30 percent of the time.
We’re going to be the underdog of every match we play in.’
