Tom McCarron has been appointed vice president of Administration and Finance and chief financial officer (CFO) of CSUN.
McCarron, was previously serving as interim vice president of Administration and Finance as of last November and was officially appointed to the position Jan. 1, 2008 after his predecessor, Randy Harris, resigned.’ Harris had been appointed to the position April 2, 2007 and resigned Nov. 30, 2007.
McCarron earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting at CSUN and received his master’s degree from Pepperdine University, according to the university publication, @CSUN.
He first came to CSUN as executive director and president of The University Corporation and the North Campus-University Park Development Corporation in 1999, according to a statement by CSUN President Jolene Koester.’ Prior to 1999, McCarron served as CFO for the CSU Institute. He also served as interim vice president for University Advancement from March to June of 2007.
McCarron ‘led the development of the Devonsire Downs,’ a faculty and staff residential community that is currently in construction by Lindley and Zelzah Avenues near Lassen Street, according to @CSUN.
‘ ‘Mr. McCarron demonstrated his readiness for his new responsibilities and I’m delighted to appoint him to the regular position,’ Koester wrote in the statement.
Harris served as director of financial operations for Brigham Young University’s worldwide operations since 2005 before coming to CSUN, according to a March 2007 statement from CSUN.
