One of the best lunch spots for CSUN students is ‘King’s Burger,’ the most unique hamburger restaurant in the Valley.
This restaurant is unique because not only do they serve hamburgers, they also have burritos, tacos and even sushi. With convenient low prices ranging from $4.79 to $7.70 for a combo (including french fries or salad and 16 oz. soda) this is sure to meet the financial strains of a college student. King’s is only about a two minute walk from campus, on the corner of Reseda Blvd. and Vincennes St.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
‘This restaurant has been here for a long time, maybe more than 20 years,’ said Young Cha, 27, the owner and chef of the restaurant. ‘I would say 60 percent of customers are neighbors, and 40 percent are students.” ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
Cha said some patrons are regulars who have been eating at King’s for about 10 years.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
The most popular items on the menu are the King’s burger combo, a regular burger topped with pastrami and bacon, and a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich combo. Their famous zucchini and onion fries with a crunchy coating are also a favorite of many customers.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
They don’t limit themselves to just burgers; sushi is another item that attracts hungry customers.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
Cha said the quality of King’s Burger’s sushi is guaranteed. With nine years of experience at top sushi restaurants such as Nobu and Sushi Roku, Cha has been able to develop his skill in being a sushi chef.
‘ Since their sushi’s debut approximately a year ago, they are planning on expanding their sushi bar. They currently only have one sushi chef and Cha’s friend occasionally helps.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
Their busiest lunch hours are from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.’ To avoid waiting in a long line at the register, it might be better to visit them after 2 p.m.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘
King’s is a ‘must-go-spot’ where anyone can grab a quick bite for a lunch break or after class. This is a restaurant CSUN students must try before they graduate.
