CSUN students and community members gathered to celebrate “El Dia de los Muertos,” a day to remember the dead, sponsored by the Student Movement Chicanos of Aztlan. Candles, papier m?ch? skulls, fruits and photographs of deceased family members were just some of the elements that decorated the altars built by students, alumni and community members. A mariachi band, folkloric dances and poetry were also part of the event, which took place in the Chicano House Resource and Cultural Arts center on Plummer Street on Nov. 3.
