Men’s golf team may be CSUN’s best ever

The Cal State Northridge men's golf team will welcome in a solid recruiting class in addition to their four returning letter winners from last year's team to what head coach Jim Bracken feels may be the best team he has ever coached. The Matadors finished sixth in the Big West conference last year, but are hoping for a better finish with an improved team this year.

Cal State Northridge visited UCLA's Drake Stadium over the weekend for the UCLA Women's Cup and walked away still looking for their first victory of the season. ? The Matadors played two games in the cup, Friday against University of San Francisco and Sunday against University of Illinois, tying the first game and losing the second.

Matadors tie USC 2-2 in scrimmage

The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team tied USC 2-2 in its second and final preseason game on Sunday at Matador Soccer Field. In a long game that consisted of two 40-minute halves, followed by a 35-minute exhibition period, the two teams were both scoreless after the first half.

Matador head women's soccer coach Keith West has high hopes for his 2007 squad, despite one of the toughest schedules the team has ever seen. The team will play UCLA and Florida State, two of the NCAA Final Four teams from 2006. The schedule also features matchups with Sweet 16 team Illinois, as well as a game against Long Beach State, currently ranked number one in the Big West Conference Pre-season Coach's Poll.
