Singers set to perform Carnegie Hall

CSUN's production of the musical "Hair," which closed last weekend, was an extremely energetic show powered by the great and courageous talents of its cast. The story was blatant, compelling and hilarious. The hour and 45 minute performance was never at any point predictable but at every opportunity shocking with parodies of religion, drugs, sex and war.

After 36 years at CSUN, music professor Elmer Heerema retires

Dr. Elmer Heerema, CSUN professor and director of the University Chorus, actually retired about five years ago. He decided to stay on as a part-time faculty member at CSUN through the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP), and his students are happy that he did so.

Sierra lobby renovation complete

Daily Sundial CSUN's Facilities Planning, Design and Construction department said the Sierra lobby renovation project is complete. Maureen Shideh, Manager of Space Planning for Facilities Planning, said they are waiting for a Sierra Hall "signage piece" to be placed inside the lobby, but other than that the project is finished.

Brokeback Mountain beckons big box-office bucks

Daily Sundial "There ain't no reins on this one" was Ennis Del Mar's bold description of the relationship, and the situation he found himself in atop Brokeback Mountain. Del Mar, played by Heath Ledger, runs into a torrid love affair with Jack Twist, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal.

Adults shouldn’t be afraid to to say how they feel

No doubt about it, we are adults. We're not even young adults. We're simply - adults. We drive, we vote (or at least we can), we work, we pay bills, and do lots more adult stuff. We also get our feelings hurt, don't we? Even though we are not children anymore and we're not afforded the same consideration that children are, do not suppose that we are now resilient to mean people.

BSU warns of health risks

The CSUN Black Student Union and campus officials are looking to raise awareness about health issues with African-American students. The BSU created a pamphlet to inform students about the dangers of diabetes, high blood pressure, sickle cell disease, cancer, HIV/AIDS and STDs to African-Americans.
