Should it go to Steve Nash again or should Kobe Bryant finally get the piece of hardware that has eluded him his entire career? Should LeBron James get the MVP, with many more likely to come, or should Elton Brand for doing the unthinkable, bringing the Clippers into the playoffs? And this list does not include all the other potential nominees, such as Chauencey Billups or Shawn Marion.

Junior Mike Efevberha forgoes senior year to enter NBA draft

After one season where he averaged a team-leading 17 points per game, junior Mike Efevberha has decided April 18 to forgo his senior season and declare for the NBA draft. Efevberha said he made the decision three weeks ago. "Me and coach Braz (head coach Bobby Braswell) sat down and had a meeting and discussed my plans for the future, and (I) told him that this is what I was thinking about," Efevberha said.

Majority of the country not ready for gay athletes

In fact, out of millions of athletes throughout the years, ESPN lists some notable gay athletes and it only stems one page. And the majority of athletes who have come out have been female.

The east coast bias in media involving sports needs to stop

After watching the National Championship, something has to be said about this. The east coast bias in sports broadcasting needs to be dealt with. It is almost to the point where I cannot listen to the announcers on most of the major networks. Looking at CBS, there was one point during the National Championship where I had to turn my television on mute.

Calabasas smoking ban beginnings of bad habit

On Feb. 15, the Calabasas City Council voted unanimously to ban smoking in all public places. The ban took effect March 17. Calabasas will not be the last city to ban smoking like this. Chicago has already enacted a ban similar to this, as has a host of other cities in the United States.

Last summer was dubbed the summer of remakes at the movies and maybe that is why revenues are down. I do not mind movies being remade, but I think the wrong movies are being done. "War of the Worlds" was not the best; the book and the original were much better.
